Saturday Afternoon I attended Joel Rowswell's Mayoral Campaign kick-off, thank you Joel, thank you Ikeda (Joel's Wife), thank you to all the volunteers and especially thank you to the city residents and potential councillors like me working for a common goal, a diversified group that brings many opinions. What impressed me most was the like mindedness regarding the concerns for the future of our community. I know Joel,

One of my main platform points is the support for homelessness, mental health and addictions; as we know this is a societal issue. I understand that we need more services; organizations providing beds, treatment and ongoing care as well as counseling. I would be in support of mandatory holding, this is not imprisonment, it is a temporary detainment to evaluate the individuals' physical and mental health with a voluntary opportunity to receive treatment for addictions and men

I went for a walk yesterday knocking on doors in Ward 1 with Joel Rowswell, Josh Vierimaa, Bill a campaign volunteer, a young man and a young lady also volunteers. Thanks to all of you. My slogan is "Listening and Ready to Serve". What did I learn from the people who were willing to share? We will come back to this... What I learned from the people that were less willing to share is more concerning, not going to vote, nothing will change, doesn't matter who is in office. L
